Leaving a Legacy

Body

When you leave a legacy to Transforming People’s Lives in your Will of at least 10% of your net estate, you may be able to reduce the rate of inheritance tax chargeable on your estate from 40% to 36%.

And if you leave your whole estate to charity, then there is no need to pay any inheritance tax at all.

We are grateful for any gifts, no matter how large or small they may be. And we know the charities and individuals we support will be very grateful too.

If there is a particular cause that has resonated with you, or is particularly close to your heart, we will make sure that your gift is attributed accordingly.

Mental health

If you would like to support people with mental health conditions that are affecting their daily lives, your donation could:

contribute to charities doing all they can to potentially prolong lives
help the 1 in 5 school-age children who have a mental health condition
provide treatment currently only available to a third of these children

Homelessness

Should helping the homeless be particularly important to you, your donation can:

help families find shelter so they feel safe and secure and have a sense of belonging
alleviate the stresses and anxiety associated with homelessness for children and potentially ease emotional trauma
help lighten the load for parents who feel guilty and carry the burden of not being able to give their children a comfortable home
provide adults with greater opportunities to gain and maintain employment, help to improve their overall wellbeing and self-esteem

Amateur sport

You may be a keen sportsperson who has benefitted from keeping active and feel you would like to do the same for disadvantaged children and young people. If that’s the case, your donation could:

enable those from deprived backgrounds to have fun
help them get physically fitter and reduce the chances of obesity in later life
contribute to helping improve their mental health and confidence
help make sport more inclusive, contributing to the development of poorer communities

Addiction

If you would like to help those addicted to drugs or alcohol, your donation can:

help to save lives
provide help for the millions that are affected by addiction, who have developed life controlling problems
provide preventative help to those potentially in danger of losing their lives
ease tension and stress for the loved ones of those affected

Street children

Should helping street children be of the utmost importance to you, your donation could:

provide support to charities helping street children in various parts of the world
present children with educational opportunities and prospects that will last them a lifetime
support Educare Fund which provides education for young women at secondary school level in Southern Africa
help the Falconer Trust which aids the work of the Falconer Children's Home and Orphanage, situated in the North-West Province of Zambia
